Key Speakers

Yet again, we were able to win over excellent speakers for this year's show. Look forward to the following contributors which are just a few of those that participate in Munich for the very first time. On the following two pages you find more top-class speakers, both German and from other countries.


Ross Beaty
Ross J Beaty is a geologist and resource company entrepreneur with more than 37 years of experience in the international minerals industry, Mr. Beaty founded and currently serves as Chairman of Pan American Silver Corp., one of the worlds leading silver producers. Mr. Beaty has also founded and divested a number of other public mineral resource companies since 1985, including Northern Peru Copper sold to China Minmetals in January 2008 for $457 million and Global Copper Corp to Teck Cominco in August 2008 for $500 million. Ross Beaty is Chairman and CEO of the new geothermal company Magma Energy Corp.

Adam Crown
Adam Crown is Executive Vice President of CPM Group. CPM Group is a leading precious metals and commodities research and consulting firm founded by Jeffrey Christian in 1986. CPM’s team of professionals has extensive experience in the commodities markets. The team covers commodities research, consulting, trading, banking, and financing. Among his numerous responsibilities with CPM, Mr. Crown is responsible for client relationships and business development. Additionally, Mr. Crown oversees the Precious and Base Metals Advisory publications, the Weekly Commodities Views, and long-term studies on strategic metals. He also has deep experience working with producers and consumers of commodities on commodity price risk management and investment banking advisory work for a number of international mining companies. Mr. Crown has a B.A. in International Economics from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Chris Powell
Chris Powell has been managing editor of the Journal Inquirer, a daily newspaper in Manchester, Connecticut, U.S.A., since 1974. He writes a column about Connecticut issues that is published in a dozen other newspapers in the state and often appears on radio and television public-affairs programs there. He is a member of the executive board of the Connecticut Council on Freedom of Information and until this year was its legislative chairman for six years. In 1999, with Bill Murphy, Powell founded the Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee Inc. to expose and oppose manipulation of the gold market and related markets.
